Description Manor Park Primary School, Coventry
Manor Park Primary School. We are incredibly proud of our school and the children who come here to learn. Manor Park is a happy, successful school, where every child is cherished and supported to do their very best.
Our school, built in 1950, is a well established part of the community and has a heritage which sees ex pupils returning as parents and even grandparents. It is a large, thriving school for children aged 3 -11 years. Set in very spacious grounds and equipped with the latest technology and high quality resources.
There is a wide range of extra-curricular sporting clubs and activities including boys and girls football, netball, basketball, gym club, athletics, cricket, running club, mini tennis and rounders, some at both KS1 and KS 2. The school teams compete against other schools. Homework clubs are provided for Year 6 pupils and these are appreciated and well attended by the children. The school also subscribes to an on-line curriculum enrichment site and this is accessible to all Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils either at home or in school. The school has a strong involvement in outdoor and residential education.
All pupils in Year 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to take part in residential trips that include canoeing, climbing and underground exploration. All pupils from Year 2 upwards have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. Tuition is provided in woodwind, brass, strings, percussion and guitar. Sixteen children achieved grade awards from the Associated Boards in 2006.
There is also a Key Stage 2 Choir who perform each year at the Warwick Art Centre. Other extra curricular activities include, dance, knitting, gardening, magazine club and crafts.
